Clarke Meg Whistle
In 1843, Robert Clarke invented the tinwhistle. The first ones that he manufactured were called Megs, because 'Meg' was the Victorian word for a halfpenny which is what it cost to buy one. In making such an inexpensive real musical instrument, affordable music was brought to the masses. Today, Clarke Meg whistles are still an affordable way to make beautiful music. This whistle is available in the key of C and D and is made out of tin with a plastic mouthpiece.
